The Montauk Monster and the best cryptids of all-time

By now, you're certainly have had nightmares about the Montauk Monster story that Gawker broke on Tuesday. Is it a turtle missing its shell? A dog thrown in the ocean by its evil owner? A nutria? A viral marketing campaign for Cloverfield 2? Someone call a cryptozoologist, on the double.

This isn't the first monster to grip our collective consciousness -- there's Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, and the Chupacabra -- but these are certainly not the only famous cryptids.

• Jersey Devil -- Ever wondered where the NHL's New Jersey Devils get their name from? This creature reportedly has a long, slender neck, hooves, and wings, with its height ranging from three to seven feet. Back in the 19th century the devil was blamed for the killing of livestock. More recently, the creature popped up in an episode of The X-Files.

• Jackalope -- Part rabbit, part antelope, all trouble. It lost all its mystique when it was repeatedly featured on the very unfunny America's Funniest People -- and named Jack Ching Bada-Bing -- in the early 1990s. Thanks Dave Coulier.

• The Mothman -- A large, moth-like creature that was spotted in West Virginia in the late 1960s. Richard Gere can't be wrong.

• Goatman -- A half man-half goat creature first spotted in Maryland in the late 1950s. Since then, there have been sightings as far south as Florida and as far north as Ontario.

• Dropa -- A race of mini-aliens said to be discovered in China in 1938.

• Mokèlé-mbèmbé -- The African equivalent to the Loch Ness Monster. A dinosaur the size of a small elephant, there have been several expeditions -- right up until this year -- to try and locate it.

• The Beast of Bray Road -- The first sightings of this werewolf-like creature were in Wisconsin in the 1980s. After a spate of sightings, one local reporter wrote a book about the beast.

20 Astral Keys to Gates of Universal Consciousness

Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist who developed the field of analytical psychology and introduced the concept of archetypes of consciousness being "innate universal psychic dispositions that form the substrate from which the basic themes of human life emerge. Being universal and innate, their influence can be detected in the form of myths, symbols, rituals and instincts of human beings. Archetypes are components of the collective unconscious and serve to organize, direct and inform human thought and behaviour. ...archetypes heavily influence the human life cycle, propelling a neurologically hard-wired sequence which he called the stages of life. finally got around to watching it myself. i can't imagine that anybody could take this that seriously. couldn't this easily be faked? couldn't this be some dude in a mask? yeah, it blinks but big deal - i think even a jr. high kid with a yen for special effects artistry and a shop class for his elective this spring could have put that together.

i just don't get it. this is CRAP evidence, man.

The Mayan Sacred Calendar and Solar Wind

The Mayan Sacred Calendar (the Tzolkin) is said to be a graphic representation of a Logic transmitted by star harmonics that unlock doors of Universal Consciousness and interdimensional reality. If so, it ought to sound something like solar wind, right. Having translated the Tzolkin into sound, we offer you a comparison between that and actual NASA recorded solar wind.

When the Tzolkin's harmonic Logic is sequenced in the sonic register and played back at high speed, it sounds very much like solar wind recorded by the Voyager spacecraft, also played back at high speed. The primary dif being the Tzolkin is composed of only 13 harmonics and the solar wind has them all.

Shadow People

Let's discuss such phenom here. Blue Tat's dream post made me remember something I had wanted to mention on a different Shawdow People thread, but it is long-since gone (or on another tribe).

I don't see Shadow People. Because what I see is in full color. & I truly don't believe they are ghosts, because it doesn't fill me that rush of adrenaline that spiritual vibes often do.

They come to me just like the Shadow People do for so many others, but they are just like real people. Just wandering around my periphreal vision.

Is it like this for anyone else?

Mount Misery Mothman

It's a hotspot for local ghosthunters and thrill-seekers, or even just the curious. Mount Misery is a place, even by name, that invokes a certain atmosphere. Over one hundred years ago, it was merely a route that citizens used to get to and fro from farming communities into more urban environments for trade and various purposes. It's steep hills and winding roads, surrounded by a thick, enclosing forest made it difficult for travelers. Hence, it was coined Mount Misery.

Today it is a small community of well-to-do homes, hidden away in the gaps of the thick. There are no street lights, the roads were never widened and are quite a tight squeeze. Legends go around of "Mary's Grave" , the "Lady in White", the "Hell Hound" and even the Men in Black. It has always been an attraction, bringing late-night tourists in to see if they can bump into any/or all of the urban myths.

My own experience begins on a summer night, approximately 10 PM. A friend and I had been interested in studying the paranormal for some time, and decided Mount Misery would be one of the first places to investigate. Our equipment? Two flashlights, two tape recorders and our very own five senses.

We made a right onto Sweet Hollow Road, and immediately the atmosphere changed. I had to hit the gas especially hard, climbing the first of many steep hills. Before us, the only thing visible was the immediate area, illuminated by headlights.

We winded through the tiny roads, going into the heart of the place. A few lefts and a few rights brought us to a dead end, but not just any dead end.

The car lights shined over a massive log used as a border to prevent cars from going further. Written on the log, perhaps intentionally, was "666". My friend and I looked at each other, silently confirming that this would be the first place to check out. I turned off the ignition, passed my friend a flashlight and left the car behind.

Unfortunately for us it had been raining. The summer was still young, and so the night was chilly. The thick clouds in the sky, however, reflected the suburban lights in hues of red, pink and gray, allowing us to see fairly well without flashlights.

Before us: Three paths. One to the right, one straight, and one to the left. We went straight.

First encounter: A massive fallen tree blocking our path. Another omen? Perhaps a coincidence. We crawled over the roots and continued.

It was at this point that my friend stopped short. He grabbed my shoulder to turn my attention back to the path ahead (I was looking through the trees to the left).

"I just saw something." He said.

"What?" I asked, wondering if it was just paranoia.

"I'm not sure. It leaped across the path and disappeared into the woods."

"What was it? An animal?"

"No. It wasn't." He stated, still seeming a bit shocked. "Maybe we should go back."

"We're doing fine. Let's keep going for a few more minutes." I responded, still unsure if my friend had really seen something.

We continued down the path until we reached a fire hydrant (for some strange reason it was to the right of the path. Perhaps the area was a road at one point.) Behind us the forest had closed in, leaving no visible trace of the car or the log. I suddenly felt like we were truly in a forest, a pale forest that seemed to stretch forever. Paranoia was obviously setting in.

"Well, let's stay here for a few minutes and see if anything happens." I told my friend, trying to be as calm as I could be.

"I don't know. This doesn't feel right."

"Just a few minutes."

We tried to have conversation, just to ease the tension. The chat was quickly halted, though, by an eerie "Ping!" ringing through the forest. We both glanced around, trying to figure out where it came from. It was as if it came out of the air. The fire hydrant? It wasn't (We later tried to replicate the noise on a return visit.)

My friend decided enough was enough and started to turn back, I quickly followed, not wanting to be left behind and catch the blunt of any encounter. At the same time, I felt unsatisfied. I witnessed nothing. There were no 'eerie vibes'. Just that sound, and that could have been anything.

My friend began to run at this point, saying, "Let's get out of here, I don't want to find out what that was!"

I followed close behind him. After a minute or two, the fallen tree was once again in sight.

It was then that I saw it.

Glancing back, I looked to the path. There it was. In the first few seconds that I saw it, it appeared to only be a black shadow, a black cloud of sorts, emerging from the sea of pale light. It stood out clearly from the rest of the forest.

But then it moved. It appeared to 'stretch' itself out and up, in a moment forming the figure of a tall man. A shadow man, with massive shoulders resembling wings folded back. It had a head, but I saw no eyes. It did not appear to have any legs.

And it also didn't just watch us leave. It began to head down the trail and an alarming fast rate. At this point, my stomach felt as if it had flipped over. It was chasing us!

After a few moments of shock, I teared my eyes away and ran up beside my friend, gasping out what I had just saw. We both ran even faster, daring over the tree and not turning back until we were leaping into the car. We left with haste, shocked and amazed at what had happened.

"What did you see?" He asked me as we were heading down a sound and busy road.

"A black figure with huge shoulders." I said.

" . . . Are you serious?"

"Yeah."

"Man. That's the same thing I saw leap across the trail."

The following moment was one of grave silence.

brown mountain lights...

a couple of weeks ago a friend and myself drove up on the blue ridge parkway to enjoy the magnificence of the autumn foliage...while we were exploring i found another great lookout where you can view brown mountain...and if you're lucky, the brown mountain lights.......i've been fortunate on several occasions to see them and every time they have appeared in different ways...but undoubtedly there.......on this particular evening, however, it was very cloudy and foggy and we did'nt hang around a long time, so we did'nt see the lights.......

however, i was standing out on the overlook enjoying the view when a large owl swooped out of the trees.....*this was a delight for me since owls are one of my totem animals and it's so rare to actually see one in the wild.....meanwhile though, i hear my friend yell from the other side of the vehicle..'did you see that?'.........well, i had'nt seen it, of course, since i was so engrossed with the owl, but he swore he saw what appeared to be a ufo...unfortuantely, by the time i turned to look it had vanished behind the clouds......just for the hell of it, i took a photo of the clouds where he said it disappeared behind..........i thought the pic i took (and posted) was very odd indeed.......just a weird coincidence i know, but still.....................

Satellite Searches Could Spot Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster

Adventurer Steve Fossett went missing Sept. 3 about 70 miles southeast of Reno, Nevada, in a small plane. He left no flight plan, and searchers have combed tens of thousands of square miles of Nevada and California. After weeks of fruitless searches, and with the survival window closing, Web users were enlisted to help in Fossett's rescue, from the comfort of their own homes.

Using a program called Mechanical Turk, high-resolution satellite imagery of the search area was collected and analyzed. Participants were shown a single satellite image and asked to note any objects or wreckage that could be a plane or its debris.

The search did solve a few mysteries: several previously unknown small plane wrecks—some dating back to the 1950s—were found. Though Fossett and his plane remain missing, the satellite technology used to search for him could theoretically be applied to other types of searches. It may finally verify the existence of large, mysterious creatures reputed to inhabit the globe. Unknown animals such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster, for example, might be easily located and captured—if indeed they exist.

While satellites would be of limited use in heavily wooded areas, Bigfoot creatures have been reported in many places with relatively little forest, including Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Texas and Arizona. A single 12-foot Bigfoot may or may not be hard to spot, but a family of them would be easier to find. Furthermore, there cannot be only one Bigfoot; there must be a breeding population of them, by some estimates 6,000 to 10,000 in North America alone. Surely a coordinated, close search of satellite images would reveal dozens, if not hundreds or thousands, of Bigfoot in remote areas at any given time.

The search could include bodies of water as well. Many lake monsters and sea serpents are reported to be 50 feet or longer, and surface regularly where they are seen. If armchair investigators are up to the task, they could monitor monster-inhabited lakes such as Scotland's Loch Ness, Canada's Lake Okanagan and America's Lake Champlain using Google Earth technology. Monster buffs don't need to dip their toes into cold lakes or brave the wilderness to search for their quarry; they can scan a dozen square miles over cup of hot coffee at their leisure.

Of course, if such searches are done and still reveal no solid proof of the monsters' existence, few minds will be changed. Diehard believers can always claim that all the monstrous beasts somehow hid undetected or are masters at camouflage. Or the searchers didn't look long enough or in the right places. It only takes one live or dead Bigfoot or lake monster to forever prove that they exist, but no amount of failed searches will ever prove they don't.

Patterns in the Paranormal

I'm not sure if this is true for everyone, but in experiences I have shared with friends, there appears to be at least one pattern observed in paranormal phenomenon. I'm mainly writing this to get an experience that happened tonight off my chest and onto the discussion table. I don't really feel like going into it much, but here goes:

Aside from abrupt confrontation with ghosts and the like, I have noticed that the "Presence" that some feel at first has particular characteristics and stages.

First, you feel a presence in the room. It almost feels like an animal. You are aware of it and it is aware of you. It doesn't feel like a human presence, just a presence, very simple, like a creature or animal that has simply caught sight of you in the woods. The major difference between the feeling this presence has, and the feeling, say, a deer has on you upon sighting, is hostility. You feel slightly threatened. Perhaps it does too.

At this point, you leave or you stay, but the second thing happens,

The "Presence" escalates. It becomes a stronger feeling, and you become more alert. It almost feels as if some invisible force is moving about. You get uneasy, and perhaps you assure yourself that, "it's just paranoia." This is a little more than being scared of creepy tales and dark evil forces. It feels, to you, like an actual danger. A threat. You react to it as you would a wolf approaching you, or a bear. And it feels as if it is an animal like presence itself.

The later stage is HEAVY escalation. The air almost becomes like a thick fog of presence, looming, constant, moving. Every fiber of you feels uneasy.

The final stage is manifestation. You actually see something, if but for an insant, physically observable. If you are with more than one person, it will be shared by that witness. Other times, something physical will be interacted with. (For example, in my case tonight, a 'figure' moving quickly past my cars door. Both my friend and I turned, watched it walk past, and turned to look at each other. Another instance would be in the basement where my friend witnessed a shadow rush by the stairs, then I look up and observe my motion detector go off at a distance we could not interfere with.)

So,

Minimal awareness of presence
Learning of presence (Distinguishing features of how it feels)
Escalation of Presence
HEAVY presence,
Manifestation.

I'm going to admit that I never stayed much past a manifestation or two. I shared two manifestations and felt the presence in unison with my friend. Is this merely shared paranoia that follows a general escalating pattern (As seems, aftering putting it down like this, a good possibility), or is something odd really going on?

What of the distinguishing features of this presence? The random instances it occurs? I can count the number of times this has happened to this strong level of physical manifestation; it has been very far and few. But every time, it seems to follow this pattern. Some say that there are things about this universe we do not yet understand. I'm willing to agree with them here. It seems that we don't understand all who walk on, or perhaps walk through our world. We've only touched the surface and for the most part that's where we stay. But what if there's depth beneath the waters? What if this is not just paranoia, but has distinguishing characteristics of something more? Nothing glorious, grand and intriguing for the happy ghost hunter, but something that just is. Just as an encounter with a wolf in the woods is as natural as an encounter with a deer, perhaps an encounter with a non-physical presence is just as natural. Indeed, our ancestors spoke of spirits as they were a natural part of the environment, as if they were weaved into the cosmos just as rightly as we are. Maybe so. I do not rule out the possibility, and I feel that maybe there is a thing to be learned from animistic culture. With new understanding today, I'm sure quite alot could be debunked, de-mystified, but there are always going to be certain things that defy the rules and reset standards. That being said, I ended up saying quite alot. These events really stir up unrest in one's mind. But it's off to bed now, I hope this is a decent topic, worthy of a reply or two. I've always found the matter of the paranormal to be one of the most intriguing things about being here, living and being a human being. The unexplained is less of a thrill ride than of a curiousity, a passion ot discover. At any rate. Good night all.

The Tzolkin: Music for positive planetary consciousness and change.

Twenty years ago, I was sitting in my little studio in Los Angeles, CA, sequencing and recording the first acoustic translations of the Mayan Sacred Calendar, the Tzolkin, and shifting into what was being called the "Harmonic Convergence." Throughout the convergence, the acoustic translations of the Tzolkin's 20 Sacred Signs were being broadcast through my house and yard via the only radio transmission system accessible to me at the time, an el cheapo walkie talkie. Lolol... Hey, gotta do what ya gotta do and, having "coincidentally" translated the Tzolkin into sound only months before, my intention was to insure that the planet's ethereal body received both the galactic radio transmission and a local radio transmission of the [concentrated] Tzolkin's currents, simultaneously. It was the least I could do for the planet and, although I had the least of the consumer broadcasting possibilities, I got the job done. (A little leaven leavens the whole loaf.) Since that auspicious transit, the world's consciousness has followed a predicted course toward collective enlightenment, on and relative to all levels of society. Now, here we are, 20 years later, poised on the precipice of (and rapidly accelerating into) the most profound shift in planetary consciousness the world has ever experienced. Fortunately, the ancient Maya priests who foresaw this time also perceived and left us the Tzolkin as a tool to help us transit this period successfully.

Here is the fundamental value of the Tzolkin; it is a Key unlocking the Archetypal Properties embodied in cycles of the 4th dimension, Time, that enable us to ascend into higher levels of Life and being human (in the Highest sense of the word). Time is about periodicity, frequency. Basically, Consciousness, the All in all, uses Time to effect change in the 3rd, 2nd and 1st dimensions. The Tzolkin is a map of how Consciousness does so relative to the expression of specific Aspects of Itself. The Tzolkin is a table of the Logic embodying specific, cyclic Patterns of Time facilitating the expression of those Aspects through all states of manifestation via electromagnetic radiation. When those Patterns are expressed in their purest Form, i.e. electromagnetic frequency, e.g. sound or light, that expression effects a psychoactive, ethereal bridge to the 4th dimension and the Consciousness that generates, progresses and sustains all that is.

At this time, the world understands the principals of using complimentary sounds to effect brain synchronization and cognitive enhancement. Now, we understand the validity of using tone to effect remarkable physiological and psychological shifts. Furthermore, we not only accept, we embrace the mathematical plausibility of a multidimensional universe beyond the accepted 4 dimensions; length, width, height/depth and time. Today, we understand the unity of these dimensions and of all things in such a way that we can comprehend how certain harmonic patterns transmitted in the 3D expression of Life may effect links to their concurrent Life expressions in the 4D, 5D and higher realms. Newcomer could use some help

So I've been interested in the "spiritual realm" for years but have never really got into it. I'm a religious person and I know there can be serious concequences for letting something in or participating in the wrong stuff; therefore, I've always closed my mind to the whole thing. I've felt things before and I know I could see things but I choose to keep my mind closed. I let my brain rationalize it away like most people do. But things have been getting harder to ignore recently. I very rarely remember my dreams but when I do it's always extremely realistic, a terrifying nightmare, and usually spiritual. I've been mauled by a little demon girl so many times....I wake up feeling absolutely terrified...I couldn't stop crying the entire time I wrote them in a journal....and even just writing it on here is making me shake. I hear things and don't know whether to explain them away or pay more attention to them. I swear I see her (this dead girl) out of the corner of my eye, and there's times where I feel like I know where she's at and if I turn and look she'll be there (but she never is). If I'm ever in the dark I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack. I sleep on the top of a bunk and I expect to run into her evertime I crawl into bed...I can't even go into the adjoining room when no one is with me. I know evil feeds off fear but I don't know what I'm dealing with...have I just watched to many movies or what?? (I can't even watch things like "The Grudge" anymore".)
I've had other terrifying encounters too.....my town is very "haunted" and I went to a cemetary with a group of friends. Something there wanted me and it terrified me because I felt like it would take me mentally into a different realm.
Being religious I do pray and such....but I feel like I should know more. I've always felt like I would have special "spiritual gifts" but I don't know how to open myself up to the spiritual realm to recieve them without getting hurt or scared to death (literally)
any suggestions...advice....good links for information?? thnx

Ley Lines

If you sprinkile flakes of lead around a dipole magnet you can see the lines of magnet force on the table. I think that's the correct termanology. Anyway, the earth is supposed to have a magnetic grid that are called "ley lines" and where two or more ley lines intersect you find the ancients building places like stonehenge and the pyramids and so forth.

Is there any concrete evidence to these lines or are they just scientific folklore? I saw a supposed map of ley lines in Seattle once and there was like a hundred of them and I was somewhat incredulous. However the Oregon Vortex in Southern Oregon is supposed to be one of these convergent spots (similar one in Santa Cruz) and the gravitational anomalies in those spots is truely wierd.

"I've been interested in the devil for some time. I've often blamed him for the bad things that have happened in my life and in the world around me. I thought of him as someone to fear, yet someone whose influence on me is always subject to my own free will. Perhaps you have similar beliefs?
You would not be surprised to learn that the concept of the devil is very much the same around the globe, and has been recognized in just about every culture for the past millennia. Even people who do not have a clear understanding of God, or believe in a heaven or hell, harbor belief in something akin to the personified master of evil.

I would like to take you on an adventure to explore the origins of the devil, but you will have to be responsible for what you will learn. You can treat it as fiction, which it is not, or you can accept it as another odd tale from the internet, which is how I will present it. A third option is for you to be curious enough to see if what I will tell you has any truth to it, which it does. And when you make this discovery on your own, then you may well wish you had not read it at all.

If you are ready, we will begin with what most people consider the oldest book. In the original Genesis, chapter 6, there is the following passage:

The sons of God saw the daughters of man, and that they were good; and they took them for wives, all of which they chose...
The Nefilim were upon the earth in those days, and thereafter also, when the sons of the gods cohabited with the daughters of Adam, and they bore children unto them. They were the might ones of eternity - the people of the shem.

If you check your modern Bible you will find that this original passage has been reduced to a phrase, "There were giants upon the earth," while other translations have left the term "nefilim" intact. The Hebrew origins (N.F.L) of this word mean, literally, "to be cast down." But to gain a more detailed view of the nefilim and their true origins we must go back further than the book of Genesis, to a time that you most likely have never read about in school, or elsewhere.

The truth about the nefilim has been known for many years now. Earlier this century, archaeologists were sifting through mounds of ancient debris in a place called Nippur in what is now Iraq. As they dug deeper, looking for stone artifacts, they hauled countless loads of tiny clay fragments that looked like broken pottery, adorned with designs made of short straight lines. Carelessly piled some distance from the dig, this debris was considered an annoyance and treated with disinterest. The stone artifacts were surprisingly rare at this particular site but, eventually, one was uncovered that left the archaeologists stunned. Like the famous Rosetta Stone that contained Egyptian hieroglyphs and ancient Greek, the stone at Nippur contained ancient Mesopotamian as well as a collection of the same straight lines that had decorated the clay debris. Archaeologists then realized that the clay fragments were not useless pottery, but were part of a vast library written on clay tablets in the oldest known human language.

Translating the odd lines was not easy, but persistence eventually won and the archaeologists had their second great surprise. A tablet written in this new language, called cuneiform, described the library as being "very old" and credited its collection to the Mesopotamian king, Ashurbanipal, who lived about 3000 years ago. In his dedication tablet, Ashurbanipal boasts that he could read several old languages, "including the old writing from before the great flood." But before you draw any comparisons to the Biblical stories in Genesis, you must hear the rest of what was found."

Alive Again.... Back from the Dead!

I've noted several people announced dead by reputable sources such as the San Francisco Chronicle and CBS Evening News, and then heard about them being alive again later on. This "alive again" variety of reality shift continues to be one of the most surprising and amazing to me, as I am astonished to see people alive and well again who I know have died. Editorial error can be ruled out, since there are no retractions of false reports. Until you've noticed this sort of reality shift yourself, it's hard to fully understand how shocking this experience can feel. Typically, whatever evidence I've had regarding the previous death report is unavailable, leaving me with the usual amount of physical proof that a reality shift has occurred... haunting memories of the other reality.

Hello...I have a question I know is a bit off topic, but I have asked in several tribes I belong to and gotten no responses whatsoever. I thought possibly since we in this tribe have an interest in the bizarre, maybe someone could help me out on this...
I am sure everyone familiar with the Christian faith is familiar with the painting of the guardian angel escorting 2 children across a rickety bridge. Does anyone remember...back in the 70's (I think) when there was a 'problem' with some of these paintings having satanic symbols in them? *For instance, the basket the little girl is carrying is cracked open and peeking out of it is a red eyed, sharp toothed rat...snakes threaded thru the angel's hair, etc. I know this happened because I saw one of them myself, but I have tried and tried to look this up on the web and can find nothing. I am beginning to wonder if I am crazy. So if anyone remembers this or can help me out in any way, please answer. And once again I am sorry for posting something off topic (but PLEASE help!)_

Hey all! I am doing research for a book I wrote, which I need to gather more information for a clearer, better understanding. It is a psychic development book, but I begin with philosophising and theories to help one better accept their intuitive abilities by recognizing when the ego is getting in the way of your higher self.

So, I am attempting to go back to "the garden of eden" and "adam and eve", being tempted by the "serpent" which is the analogy of our ego, also what the Course in miracles refers to as the devil (within all of us not underground waiting for your life to be judged by an all loving all forgiving god).

Kundalini, the coiled serpent, the serpent in the garden... Our spinal cord, a long stretched out "serpent" with the serpents head as our medulla oblongata, known as the "reptile brain". This serpent is our link to how and why the ego was able to get such as strong hold over this world and distance us from our "true nature". This serpent has calcified itself over time. Our spinal cord is the major bone structure throughout our entire body. Our body is an ego creation.(?) Our collective consciousness believes strongly in this world of illusion.

My question that I'm looking for research on is how did our ego get such a strong hold over us?

I believe we came to a 3D world to express ourselves as Creators in a physical form. We were closely linked to the Source, as what lemuria was all about. Why did things change? If we were all intuitive, closely connected to the energy around us, deceit would not be possible and therefore corruption would not be possible. it is in opposition of the creators knowledge and know how. Corruption is an ego trait. how did it get here? Was it solely extraterrestrials that invaded that brought in the ego? Did they cause our bodies to solidify or were they already solid? Or were we like the fairy realm, half etheric and half physical so we were able to express ourselves physically without calcifying?

This is really esoteric I know, and I'm going where I feel most don't dare. It does boogle the mind. but any help I will be grateful for. Links, thoughts, suggestions.... Bring this topic up to someone who you think might know.

Lake monsters

There's a little-known field of biology known as cryptozoology.

Cryptozoologists are the people who brought you the living fossils of the coelacanth, long thought to have died out millions of years ago, in a live breeding colony off of Madagascar. There is nothing closer to a living dinosaur than these fish. Thought to be the link between fish and lizards.

Anyway, I like to keep up on cryptozoology and lake monsters and such. I am in Oregon and a little North of here, just across the border in Canada is Lake Oakanogan. There is some creature that lives in the lake there that has been sighted innumerable times known to locals as "Ogopogo".

Interestingly enough if you follow the same latitude over to Lake Champlain you find another lake monster the locals there call "Champ". I think the photo on the front page of this tribe is of "Champ".

Stay on an Eastern couse across the pond and you have Nessie who needs no intoduction, and another in Sweden, and yet another in Japan. All of these Lakes fall within a fairly narrow band which is kind of interesting.

If there are more lake monsters I haven't heard of I wouldn't be surprised if the lake was located within this band.

CHINO - Much like the song, something — nobody's sure what, exactly — fell from the night sky Tuesday near Roswell.

No, not the town in New Mexico. This Roswell is an avenue in Chino, one street up from where -- and here's where things get even more interesting -- a shed caught fire at about the same time the flying object supposedly hit the ground.

At least that's what dozens of people thought they saw around 10:30 p.m., when they contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department to say an unidentified flying object was landing or crashing in town.

The sighting was reported by residents and drivers from as close as the 71 Freeway and as far away as the 210 Freeway.

First, falling object. Then, fire.

"Somebody told one of the fire officials that they saw a plane crash," said Capt. Kim Johnson of Chino Fire Department Station 65, whose unit was called into action when a shed in the 13000 block of Cozzens Street burst into flame.

"There are a lot of people who are convinced that something came out of the sky - that there was something unexplainable, a light falling from the sky," Johnson said.

After the sighting, the sheriff's department received several phone calls, Johnson said. A helicopter was dispatched to check the area for a plane crash, but there was no plane to be found.

"Somebody called in saying they saw something on the 210 that thought they saw fire (in the sky)," said Debra Holman, of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. "At first we thought it was a transformer but it's still undetermined."

The Sheriff's Department is still investigating the incident, Holman said.

All planes were accounted for at Ontario International Airport, and no unidentified flying object was detected by radar Tuesday night, said Maria Tesoro-Fermin, an airport spokeswoman.

On Wednesday, the shed lay in ruins in the back of the abandoned Cozzens Street house. Charred-black wood crackled and swayed in the wind as neighbor Gary Hering worked on his RV.

"I didn't hear anything," Hering said. "Not an explosion, nothing. My son and wife saw the fire coming from the shed. All I saw was flames."

It's a mystery, yes, but one that not everybody thinks is a big deal, said another neighbor, Gary Matulik, who was home when the fire broke out.

"I didn't hear anything," Matulik said. "I didn't even know there was a fire here last night."

But some chose not to talk about the strange object that fascinated and terrified them the night before.

"My cousin said he saw a shooting star," said a young man who lives on Roswell Avenue. He did not reveal his name.

The young man's cousin, who also withheld his name, denied it.

"I was just talking," he said. "It didn't mean anything."

Fire investigators spent Wednesday at the shed, looking for a cause of the fire.

"There may be a simple explanation," Johnson said. "But who knows?"

Since 1967, UFO sightings in the Inland Valley have been reported from time to time. Balls of light over Diamond Bar, south Pomona and Claremont were seen in 1967. In 1974 an unexplained fiery flash perplexed residents in Azusa.

And in 1966, Claremont residents were told a UFO sighting was really just a plastic bag.

Hi everyone just signed up and boy has my life been weird, most recently was the flaming blue and green ball in the sky that had a comet like appearance spitting the proverbiale flame style, reminded me of the two random huge balls of flame i've seen before high in the sky, except that this was moving and was first bright blue then shifted to bright green. I was driving over the pass from vallejo to vacaville heading west so i had a great unobstructed view, i got this feeling that i was going to wake up to the news that a missle had hitt san fran or something, but it was probably something even weirder than that. The Texas Devil Beast is stalking South and East Texas again, just in time to give television a news story to replace Scott Peterson's trial and Nicollette Sheridan's towel.

When last we saw the mysterious Devil Beast, he had stirred up a near-panic in suburban San Antonio, where a rancher killed an ugly little hairless blue animal with big eyes, a long nose and fangs.

Wildlife officials called it a sick coyote. But a television station said it might be the famous Chupacabra -- officially El Chupacabras, a legendary fanged, goat-killing monster, sort of the borderland's Bigfoot.

With that single word -- "Chupacabra?" -- the newscast sent crowds mobbing a small-town grocery to see photos.

Now, two more blue creatures have turned up near Lufkin in East Texas. Yet another was seen this week sauntering through a San Antonio neighborhood.

Wildlife officials say they're simply coyotes with a particularly fierce strain of mange. But a cable television crew in San Antonio this week found a British expert to call the animals a new species.

With elections over and sweeps week on, San Antonio newscasts have gone crazy over El Chupacabras.

"I think the others are just trying to get their share of the attention," said Nancy DeLeon of DeLeon Grocery & Market in Elmendorf. Thousands of visitors have studied photos there and bought hundreds of T-shirts stamped "Chupacabra Tour 2004."

"I think the rest are all copycats," she said. She laughed. "They're copy-Chupas."

Whatever Bexar County rancher Devin Mcanally shot and buried in May near Elmendorf is the only genuine Texas Devil Chupa/Beast, she said. The others must be coyotes.

Game wardens say they're all coyotes. As the coyote population goes up, mange cases spread and outbreaks grow more common, said John Young, a Texas Parks and Wildlife mammalogist. It's nature's way of thinning out the species.

"We've all looked at the photos, and there's no question," he said from an Austin office. "It bothers me that news reports keep pushing the sensational side."

The coyotes shed their hair and turn blue from "very severe" mange, he said.

The Chupa/Beast resurfaced last month when one was killed in East Texas at Pollok, near Lufkin. The Lufkin Daily News, joining in the fun, named it the Pollok Mystery Beast. Former Lufkin zookeeper Stacy Womack shot photos of the dead animal.

She's taken the tale to a celestial level.

"I don't think it's an alien," she told WOAI News 4 in San Antonio, your station for 'round-the-clock Chupacabra coverage.

"But I wonder about that spaceship [Columbia] that blew up over here. Something might have come out of it, and caused some type of genetic problem," she said.

A state health official said there's nothing alien about a sick coyote. It only looked weird because of poor nutrition and genetic abnormalities, he said. Dr. James Wright of the Texas Department of State Health Services in Tyler was quoted by the regional Country World News. "The real story here is how excited people got over a coyote with mange," he said.

After the wet summer, coyotes are on the prowl all over Texas. In Austin, Travis County commissioners have hired biologists to manage the population in northwest Austin, where coyotes have been peering into windows and stalking homeowners carrying groceries.

In Houston, coyotes have set up shop in lush Memorial Park. City officials in Galveston and Waco recently launched coyote-control campaigns.

No Chupacabra sightings yet in Fort Worth. But coyotes roam the remote part of Forest Park. Wildlife officials say the same advice applies everywhere: Don't set pet food or water outside. Don't leave cats outside. Lift bird feeders more than 6 feet off the ground. Don't use vegetable-based fertilizers or leave anything else outside.

Don't feed the Chupacabras.

Hi new member here.
Anyway, in this huge galaxy and the galaxies beyond, we must be very egotistical to believe that were are the only lifeforms of superior intelligence. Think about all we have. Come on. How did Ben Franklin know to try that thing with the key and the kite? Where did computers really come from? I mean for thousands of years ( more?) we didn't even have toilets. We did our business in holes and covered them up. Where has our superior knowledge come from?

There are lake monsters but are they leftovers from the age of dinosaurs or just a strange type of aquatic mammal.
There are reports of sightings in almost every large body of fresh water that can be found in the northern most regions of the world. Russia, Japan, Finland, Ireland, Scotland, Canada. There are sightings of large lake creatures in almost every large lake in Canada.
Why can't anyone ever get a decent photo of these things? I know they're there. It's just odd that with all the photograhic equipment at our disposal we can't get a decent photo of these creatures.

Does anyone have theories as to why a creature this immense is capable of eluding fanatical Bigfoot hunters? There are those who dedicate their entire lives to prooving this creature exists, but none of them have been able to provide evidence beyond footprints and really bad video & photographs.
